This past Friday I had the privilege of visiting the home of Mark and Luciana Poulterer for their Tie Dye and Cupcakes fundraiser for the Good Friday Gift. Luciana's baking would have been enough to entice me (she always astonishes me with her creations), but I was also secretly excited to try tie dyeing - growing up oversees I'd never done it before!
When I turned onto their street, I started tracking the house numbers to make sure I didn't miss their home, and then I saw the VW bus covered in tie dyed shirts, the rainbow of color in the porch windows, and the five "we are not afraid" signs in the front yard, and I knew I had arrived at the right spot.
The fantastic setup attracted neighbors and passers-by, and made it impossible to miss for those of us searching for it. I was thrilled to see not only Resurrection families, but also neighborhood kids, and Mark's co-workers lining up to dye a shirt and munch on yummy treats.
The Poulterers truly succeeded at using their gifts and resources to multiply their impact for the Kingdom. Mark, a teacher, travels to craft fairs during the summer with his tie dyeing stand, and Luciana caters for various events out of their home. I was so encouraged by the creativity and effort they put into raising money for the Good Friday Gift.
As Mission Director, I've been immersed in preparations for the gift for many months and it has been such a blessing to see Resurrection respond so generously. Thank you so much to everyone who has already given! April 30 is the last day to give. You can learn more here. I can't wait to see how this Good Friday Gift concludes!
